To facilitate physical distancing and do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19, we are transitioning to telehealth consultations for the foreseeable future. These sessions will be held via Zoom, which is a free, secure and easy to use program similar to Skype. Zoom allows us to see and/ or hear each other and share resources much like we would do in person. We will also have telephone options available.
Private Health Rebates:
Majority of health funds have agreed to provide coverage for telehealth consultations provided by psychologists until 30th September 2020. This is available to existing clients who have attended an appointment with the psychologist within the past six months. Alternatively, health fund rebates are available if psychological services have been recommended by your general practitioner. Your rebate would depend on your level of cover which you would need to discuss with your health fund directly.
Accessing Medicare Rebates:
The Australian Government has announced a whole population telehealth approach making it easier to access support from your general practitioner, specialists, and allied health supports via telehealth (i.e., phone or video calls). Under this arrangement, psychological services provided via telehealth will be bulk-billed (no gap fee) until 30th September 2020 to those with a mental health care plan.
Should you be experiencing any financial hardship, please contact us as we would be happy to make arrangements to support you in this time.
